Sea and sky as far as the eye can see-that's the view from Villa Cypriana for it is situated right by the Libyan sea, with only glorious swimming pools separating it from the shore.
Information about the area
Cypriana Apartments are located right next to the sea side and far away from tourist crouds. It is situated 18 klm away from Ierapetra city, 4 klm away from the village of Makri Gialos and 2 klm away from the village of Koutsouras in which you can find mini market shop/bakery/gas station/and many traditional taverns to enjoy Cretan cousin.
Near and far there are many places of interest to visit and explore. Famous archeological sites, historical churches, unique beaches, gorges and caves, plus a wide range of activities to suit everyone’s taste.
Koutsouras together with the neighbouring settlements of Makri Gialos and Analipsi are forming an urban entity developing to a modern town. There is a post office, a police station, some supermarkets and a petrol station, apart from many hotels and apartments for your accommodation, as well as several tavernas and restaurants. In the Communal Park of Koutsouras, many events such as open air concerts and parties take place every summer.
Over Koutsouras is located the traditional settlement of Tsikalaria with the "pirate path" passing through, a historic remain of the Byzantine and Post-Byzantine years. The mountain sides ίn the south of Koutsouras are covered by pine forests while ίn the east there is a recreation ground, the "Koutsouras forest".
The beaches in and near Ierapetra are particularly well known and stretch about 51 kilometres along the coast, all the way from Myrtos to the “Megali Paralia” (Large Beach) at Ferma. Lastly there is the West Beach of Ierapetra, in the heart of town, with its fine sand and deep-blue waters. This is the busiest beach in town.
Beaches near Cypriana
10 km from Cypriana is Koutsounari beach. This is a large beach with fine sand and relatively shallow water.
It’s not fully organised, which means that a large part has no beach umbrellas and loungers, but there are quite a few trees providing shade for bathers.
8 km west of Cypriana is Ferma beach. It’s a small cove with very clear water. Another semi-organised beach, set in a wonderful landscape.
6 km from Cypriana is Agia Fotia, an inlet with fine sand and a rocky shore, which gets quite busy in the summer. There are umbrellas and loungers, as well as canteens selling snacks and refreshments.
4 km west from Cypriana is Galini beache and 4 km east from Cypriana is Makri Gialos beache, two beautiful beaches with fine sand. There are umbrellas and loungers, as well as canteens and tavernas that selling snacks and refreshments.
